Please be respectful and professional
- Treat all users with respect.
- Personal attacks, harassment or inflammatory comments will not be tolerated.
Stay on topic
- Discussions should focus on engineering, education, academia and related topics.
Cite your sources
- If sharing research or referring to others’ work, please reference the source through a citation and/or link.
- Please respect intellectual property by acknowledging original authors.
Please contribute constructively
- Contributions should aim to advance the discussion or offer constructive feedback.
- Criticisms should be respectful and framed in a manner that encourages dialogue, not conflict.
Please include English
- If you are posting in any language other than English, please include an English translation within the same post.
What is allowed:
Sharing research and resources
- Feel free to post links to research papers, articles, and resources that contribute to the discussion.
- Wherever possible, aim to ensure these are accessible to all participants, i.e. links to open-access articles or publicly available datasets.
Asking and answering questions
- Feel free to ask for help on professional matters (such as matters of research, teaching, administration or strategy) or to seek others’ expert opinions.
- Please answer questions that have been posted (ideally as replies) and feel free to share your own academic experiences.
Collaboration requests
- You are welcome to post collaboration requests for research, writing projects or academic networking opportunities.
What is not allowed:
No spam or duplicates
- Do not post duplicate content. If you’ve already shared a resource or discussion topic, please do not repost it.
- Spam (irrelevant posts, advertisements or promotions) is strictly prohibited.
- Links should be posted only if they are relevant to the discussion and add value.
No offensive or illegal content
- Posts containing hate speech, defamatory claims or offensive language, discriminatory remarks or otherwise inappropriate content will be removed.
- Disagreements should be expressed with professionalism and maturity.
No unverified information
- Avoid spreading unverified, non-peer-reviewed, or potentially misleading information.
- If sharing news or recent findings, ensure the source is credible and well-supported.
No plagiarism
- Do not plagiarise content or ideas. Always give credit to original authors when referencing their work.
By following these rules, we aim to maintain a space for respectful, scholarly exchange.
The EPC reserves the right to remove posts or comments without warning and to take action against those who breach these rules. This may include instant suspension of membership privileges. (Suspensions can be appealed by contacting the EPC Executive and/or the EPC Executive Board.)
