Recruitment and Admissions Forum 2012

The Recruitment and Admissions Forum took place at the Royal Academy of Engineering on 7th November 2012.  The theme was "Uncertain times in university recruitment and admissions: protecting the future supply of graduate engineers".

Colleagues from the British Council, Cambridge Education and the Times Higher Education gave us their perspectives on recent trends and the impact of the very many changes in the policy and funding environment which have taken place this year and their impact on recruitment of engineering students.

Attendees then had the opportunity to discuss and recommend new approaches to recruiting the next generation of engineers within the context of the innovative programmes “Big Bang” and “Tomorrow’s Engineers” run by Engineering UK.

We were also able to provide a summary of the results of the EPC’s 2012/13 survey of members’ enrolment experience.
