All In For Engineering: Neuroinclusive Assessment

Online event free

This event is open to all with an interest in assessment, diversity within the engineering profession and enhancement of practice in engineering education.

Following the ‘Co-Designing a Neuro-inclusive Future’ event academics from the UK & Ireland Engineering Education Research Network have come together to lead a discussion on assessment practice and the experience of neurodiverse students.  There are aspects of assessment practice that we are aware will potentially discriminate against neurodiverse students being able to reach their full potential as they seek to enter an engineering career. Currently some of these students will be able to access ‘reasonable adjustments’ yet such adjustments may be considered to be based upon institutional compliance and not student need.

At this on-line event a panel will explore their observations on inclusive assessment, supporting neurodiverse students, anxiety within assessment and how these factors impact upon the student experience and their success. The event will also seek to shine a light on examples of good practice through both a Q&A and open discussion.
