OfS consultation on a new approach to regulating equality of opportunity in English higher education

The EPC response to this consultation can be found here.

The Office for Students is proposing to take a new approach to the regulation of equality of opportunity in English higher education, including access and participation plans.

Details of the consultation are available on the OfS website.

As part of this consultation, OfS has published as annexes to the main document:

  • the proposed Regulatory notice 1: Access and participation plan guidance
  • the proposed template for an access and participation plan and accessible summary
  • information about the proposed Equality of Opportunity Risk Register (EORR)
  • fictional examples of meeting OfS expectations.

Due to the short window for this consultation, the EPC is preparing an executive response. See the EPC consultations policy for the range of approaches available to us.

The deadline for responses in noon on 10 November 2022.

Meanwhile, you can register for an OfS consultation webinar on a new approach to regulating equality of opportunity in higher education, on Tuesday 18 October 2022, here.
