Summary

This consultation sets out proposals for how practical work in new GCSE science qualifications due to be taught from 2016 should be assessed.

This is a consultation about the assessment of practical work in GCSE science. These qualifications will be first taught in September 2016.

The consultation covers the subjects:

  • biology
  • chemistry
  • physics
  • combined science

This is part of Ofqual’s work supporting the government’s changes to GCSEs, AS and A levels.

This consultation ran from December 2014 to January 2015.
