Engineers and educators recognised in Birthday Honours

The EPC would like to congratulate all the EPC members and friends who have been recognised in 2024’s King’s Birthday Honours list, including:

  • Prof Karen Halford FREng CBE, Vice Chancellor of Cranfield University, becomes a Dame for services to engineering
  • Clare Marchant, former Chief Executive of UCAS, becomes a Dame for services to higher education
  • Prof Judith Petts CBE, Vice Chancellor of the University of Plymouth, becomes a Dame for services to higher education and sustainability
  • Prof Peter Clarkson FREng, Director, Cambridge Engineering Design Centre and Co-Director, Cambridge Public Health, University of Cambridge, becomes a CBE for services to engineering and design
  • Prof Peter Guthrie OBE FREng, Vice President and Trustee of the Royal Academy of Engineering, becomes a CBE for services to engineering and design
  • Prof Elizabeth Treasure, Vice Chancellor of the University of Aberystwyth, becomes a CBE for services to higher education and the community
  • Dr Alison Vincent FREng, Non-Executive Director, Synectics plc, SEI Investments Ltd and Connected Places Catapult, becomes a CBE for services to engineering and technology
  • Prof Ian White, Vice Chancellor of the University of Bath, becomes a CBE for services to higher education and engineering
  • John Hill, Director (Technology and Strategy) at The Welding Institute, becomes an OBE for services to SMEs, the research institutes sector, local economic development and higher education
  • Prof Elizabeth Brierley, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Sustainability at Manchester Metropolitan University, becomes an MBE for services to sustainability education
  • Dr Lucy Rogers FREng, engineer and author, becomes an MBE for services to engineering
