S.E.E EARTH – Sustainable Engineering Education for one EARTH
Online event externalAn online event to raise awareness, share knowledge, experiences, and to strengthen capacity for sustainability education as part of the celebration of the International Earth Day
WHY S.E.E. Earth?
Presently, the world is going under major political, social and economic changes. Some driven by sustainability-related challenges and problems which threaten our future, and the planet, as we know. Engineers and scientists play a pivotal role in the development of innovative, eco-friendly technologies and practices. Engineering education for, and of the future, must ensure that the next generation of engineers are equipped with competence to tackle environmental challenges. By integrating sustainability into engineering education, we can foster a generation of professionals dedicated to creating a sustainable and resilient world; however, practitioners and educators still struggle to relate and contextualize their subject discipline with sustainability as well as educate for it.
