Summary
The Department for Education (DfE) ran this consultation from 24th February 2022 to 6 May 2022. The consultation sought to get the views on proposals for higher education reform in five key areas:
- minimum eligibility requirements
- foundation years
- growing high-quality levels 4 and 5
- student number controls
- eligibility for a state scholarship
In conjunction with this, the consultation outlines:
- The ways in which we currently invest in higher education to prioritise provision that results in better outcomes for the economy, students, and society.
- The ways in which we aim to tackle the rising cost of the system to tax payers and lowering the levels of debts for graduates and students
